Borne out of the mind of Media’s own Loïc Barnieu and fermented to perfection by Head Brewer Chris DeVito, Sterling Pig Brewery brings local flavor and elevated pub favorites to the Baltimore Pike.

Brewed in small batches and tapped directly on-site, Sterling Pig’s eight rotating beers achieve the perfect balance of flavor and drinkability—from IPAs to Porters, from Stouts to Pilsners. It’s all about balance. From the beer to the food to the atmosphere: there’s something for everyone. Meet up with a friend at the bar. Bring your family to dinner in the main dining room overlooking the kitchen and the wood oven pizza. Throw a party upstairs overlooking the brewery, or simply take a growler to go.

LOÏC BARNIEU

Owner & CEO

When Chef Loïc Barnieu isn’t portraying the French Patriot Marquis de Lafayette for the American Historic Theatre touring the East coast, he can usually be found creating a savory entrée at one of his four downtown Media, Pennsylvania, restaurants, including Picasso Restaurant and Bar, La Belle Époque Wine Bistro, and Diego’s Cantina and Tequila Bar.

Loïc arrived in Media by way of Burgundy, France where he grew up cooking under his grandfathers, one a bakery owner the other a chef. When he wasn’t busy practicing the trade, he pursued his other passion of acting. Shortly after high school, Loïc moved to Paris and enrolled in theatre school, worked in production for a French television network, and appeared in numerous plays. After arriving in Philly, Barnieu quickly picked up the English language and even became involved in the Philadelphia theatre scene.

His restaurants have received numerous accolades throughout the years, including Best Restaurant and Best French Restaurant from Main Line Today (La Belle Époque). The publication recently deemed Sterling Pig Brewery, which opened in the summer of 2015, the “beacon of barbeque in Media.”

Chris DeVito

Brewmaster

Brewmaster Chris DeVito has been a vital part of Sterling Pig Brewery since its inception in 2015. Originally joining the team as a server, Chris quickly proved his dedication and passion for craft beer, working his way up to earn a position assisting then-Brewmaster Brian McConnell. Though his professional background began in the culinary world, Chris found his true calling in brewing and has since fully immersed himself in the craft.

Over the years, Chris has played a key role in developing and perfecting many of Sterling Pig’s standout beers, contributing to multiple award-winning recipes, including a prestigious World Beer Cup win in 2018. Now leading the brewing operations as Brewmaster, Chris channels his creativity and technical skill into every batch, taking pride in guiding a beer from concept to pint. His deep commitment to quality and innovation continues to shape the brewery’s success and reputation in the craft beer community.

Jason Shandler

Jason began working at Sterling Pig in 2021. He’s always available—day or night, weekday or weekend, and takes pride in his thorough communication with customers. A former sports writer, Jason is a huge sports fan, especially the Birds and hockey. He lives in Blue Bell with his son, Jax, and Chesapeake Bay Retriever, Guinness. Hallie Yancey

Restaurant & General Manager

Hallie has been part of the Sterling Pig family since 2015, starting as a hostess and quickly rising through the ranks to become a manager. Known for her creativity and drive, Hallie brings energy and fresh ideas to work every day. Outside of work, she loves spending time with her daughter, exploring new restaurants, and enjoying the sun and sand in Ocean City, NJ.
